World Environment Day

On Monday 5 June we celebrated World Environment Day. The theme for this year was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. In the library, we found an A-Z of books that encourage outdoor play. We also spent time in Kookaburra Creek being engineers, looking for fungi, finding minibeasts, creating shelters and generally enjoying being in the bush!

Autumn leaves

Our K-2 Students have been learning about seasons and enjoyed collecting Autumn leaves in our community to create artworks.

Regional Cross Country

Special congratulations to Logan, Elijah and Samson for representing our school and District at the Regional Cross Country Carnival on Thursday 8 June. What a wonderful achievement to compete at such a high level!

School Athletics Carnival

We had a fabulous day at our Athletics Carnival with all of our students displaying spectacular sportsmanship, participation and enthusiasm. A huge thanks to our teachers and parents for all their hard work in setting up, running the events throughout the day and the pack-up at the end of the day. Special thanks to Amber, Grace, Charlotte and Charlotte from Bomaderry High School for helping run our field events and novelty events for our younger students on the day. A highlight was definitely the parents and teachers relay at the end of day, with some pretty impressive sprinting from all of our officials, teachers and helpers. Miss Jardim, Brad, Todd and Mike took home the gold medal this time in a very close race against some tough competitors! Thanks to everyone who made the day so successful.

Quality work in kindergarten

These kindergarten students were extremely proud to show off their quality work in the Principal’s office. They each wrote a sentence independently with a capital letter to start and a full stop to end their sentence, using different strategies for spelling words they needed.

Welcome to our preschool students for 2024

We met some of our kindergarten students for 2024 early this year with a play session and school tour on Thursday 1 June. Students loved seeing their younger brothers and sisters, cousins and friends joining us for the afternoon getting ready to start big school.

Small Schools Athletics Carnival

We joined Terara, Greenwell Point, Falls Creek and Nowra Hill Public Schools for the Small Schools Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 13 June.

Shoalhaven Regional Art Gallery and Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre Excursion

We had an incredibly creative day at the Shoalhaven Regional Art Gallery and Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre to see The Twits live on stage.

Walk safely to school

It was a little chilly for ‘Walk Safely to School Day’, but a wonderful reminder to always ‘Stop, Look, Listen and Think’ when crossing roads on our journey to and from school. It was lovely to have so many preschool students join us for the event. The hot chocolate was very well received upon our arrival to school, and students enjoyed toast and fruit organised by Mrs Sim, Mr Steele and Mrs Page. Thank you to our bus drivers Mark, Surge and Sandra for getting our students to their meeting points, and a big shout out to Bruce for making every day safe, fun and welcoming at our crossing. Our families appreciate you and the energy you bring to the role and our school each morning!

New PA system

We have such a wonderful community who support our students and our school. Tino Vella knew we were in need of a new PA system to support our special events, so he arrived in our office with a new Bose portable PA system which he has kindly donated to our school. Thank you Tino for this amazingly generous donation which will definitely help with all of our future events!
