Being in the Landscape
Installation Art at the Pony Club
A group of six South Coast artists have come together to create an artistic response to the environment and landscape of Kangaroo Valley. Environmental confrontations in the last few years have been severe and unprecedented. Can art offer a place of insight, hope and renewal?
As artists we create with these issues, and work on the idea that collective work is more than the sum of the participants. Five months of planning and an intensive residency will result in a collaborative art installation at the Pony Club.
Our hope is that people in the village and the valley and those visiting will engage, participate and become citizen artists in their own way.
The collaborating artists are Terhi Hakola, a local KV artist working with installation, video and built objects, Warren Perry who develops interactive psychological landscapes, Jamie Derkenne, a digital artist, Danja Derkenne, a sculptor, Bonnie Porter Greene, a painter, and Jenny Tubby who works in visual performances and video installations.
At the Pony Club Building behind the KV Hall, Saturday through Monday, October 1-3, open 9:30am-4:30pm, Monday until 2pm.
