{"id":960,"date":"2022-07-01T00:18:56","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T00:18:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/?p=960"},"modified":"2022-07-01T00:18:56","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T00:18:56","slug":"make-it-at-home-cob-loaf-savoury-or-sweet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/2022\/07\/01\/make-it-at-home-cob-loaf-savoury-or-sweet\/","title":{"rendered":"Make it at home: Cob Loaf \u2013 Savoury or Sweet!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For a basic Cob Loaf<\/p>\n<p><em>You will need <\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 Cob Loaf.<\/p>\n<p><em>How to make it <\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut open the top of the cob loaf to make a lid.<\/li>\n<li>Pull out the bread from inside the loaf and store in an airtight container.<\/li>\n<li>Add filling \u2013 see comments below for filling suggestions.<\/li>\n<li>Cover loaf completely with foil.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 180C for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Bake, uncovered, for a further 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Serve immediately with the reserved bread pieces.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There are so many options for your filling, apart from the traditional (iconic?) spinach, cheese and a packet of French onion soup. One of the key ingredients to a great Cob Loaf is always cheese \u2013 be it a melting cheddar, a biting blue or cream cheese.<\/p>\n<p><em>Savoury suggestions <\/em><\/p>\n<p>For a snack, look at artichoke and spinach, baked brie and cranberry sauce, or chilli smoked salmon, or keep it simple with a cheese and bacon filling.<\/p>\n<p>You could turn any of your favourite meals into a Cob Loaf recipe. Why not give these a try: Lasagne Soup Cob, Pan Pizza or Cheeseburger Cob, or go Mexican with a Chilli Con Queso Cob?<\/p>\n<p><em>Sweet suggestions <\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is more Australian than Fairy Bread Cob Loaf?
