She is not the first person you\u2019d expect to join a farming revolution but, in this triumphant film, she voyages from wilful ignorance about the ecological impacts of conventional agriculture on her own rural property, to embracing a movement to restore the health of Australia\u2019s farmland, food and climate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will be a Q&amp;A following the film, with Rachel Ward and other special guests, talking about the film and the story and what we can all do to join the revolution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, on\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunday 27 August,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Rachel Perkins will join us at Upper River Hall for a special screening of her ground-breaking three-part documentary\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Australian Wars<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that sees\u00a0her journeying across the country to explore the bloody battles fought on Australian soil, and seeking to change the narrative of the\u00a0nation.\u2060 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Australian Wars<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> presents a compelling awakening to the wars fought in our own country that for too long have been at the centre of our great Australian silence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event also aims to raise awareness and discussion around the upcoming referendum \u2013 Rachel is also co-chair of the Yes Campaign for a Voice to Parliament &#8211;\u00a0 as well as raise money for local Nowra First Nations women\u2019s organisation Waminda. With generous support from Shark Island Kangaroo Valley, 100% of your ticket price will go to Waminda and\u00a0the incredible work they do to support Aboriginal women, and in doing so create stronger communities and connections to culture. Staff from Waminda will be joining us at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The afternoon will also include a welcome to country ceremony, lunch and afternoon tea, First Nations led discussions around Voice, Treaty and truth telling, and introductions and Q&amp;A with director Rachel Perkins and other special guests. Bring an open mind and questions \u2013 there is much to discuss.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets are now on sale and bookings are essential.
