The service was well attended and held in the Kangaroo Valley Hall on Tuesday 27 June 2023. This was followed by a celebration of Chris\u2019 life at the Kangaroo Valley Golf &amp; Country Retreat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chris was born on 2 October 1954 in Nowra, where he grew up, went to school and started his working life. He spent the majority of his working life as a long-haul Flight Attendant with Qantas. We met in 1983 and Chris was my partner and best friend for the last 40 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We bought our Kangaroo Valley property in 2002, built a weekender in 2004 and did the weekend commute from Sydney for 10 years \u2013 just so we could see if this was the life we wanted. It was. Prestons commenced our current home in 2014 and we moved to the Valley full time in 2016. I used to describe it as the house we would die in. I just didn\u2019t realise it would be this soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We love living here and the community has been very supportive. We have made some really great friends, to the point where some are like family (you know who you are). In the days since Chris\u2019 passing, I have been surrounded by love and support which provides some level of comfort. For that, I thank you all. I will miss Chris every day for the rest of my life.
