The activity is self-funded, with each player contributing $5 each week. Come along and have a hit, all levels are catered for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Anzac Day<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A big call out to the organisers of Anzac Day which again had a large turnout. Special thanks to Simon Harrington for his efforts in organising the volunteers for the Anzac Biscuits that were sold on the day. &#8211; a good fundraiser to ensure that our Anzac Day remains special. Also a big thank you to Simon our friendly baker from Bakers Delight, Nowra Mall for his continued support of Kangaroo Valley Lions. Well done to all those involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Medical Centre<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Update on the Medical Centre is that we have a Doctor. Dr Ellie Vidler will be providing these services in affiliation with the Milton Medical Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make an appointment, please phone their clinic directly on 4455 5755<\/span><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please specify your booking is for KV.. Services will be privately billed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8am to 12 noon &#8211; Monday<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8am to 12 noon \u2013 Wednesday<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2pm to 6pm \u2013 Friday.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Hearing dogs<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your local club has been a proud supporter of the Australian Lions Hearing Dogs (ALHD). The group has provided a set of \u2018furry ears\u2019 to many hundreds of Australians since 1980. This is all made possible from the ongoing support of their generous donors and the Lions Clubs across Australia.\u00a0 Each Hearing Assistance Dog costs ALHD just under $40,000 to train, deliver and support. However, they go to their recipients free of charge, a gift from ALHD and the Lions Clubs of Australia in helping the Australian community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One in six Australians has some form of hearing loss, with this number expecting to rise to one in four by 2050. Severe or profound hearing loss currently affects close to 400,000 people. Whilst hearing loss impacts all ages, the numbers are greater in the older generations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The technological advances with hearing aids and cochlear implants continue to improve. However, there are times when something extra is needed.
