{"id":1924,"date":"2023-02-06T01:55:42","date_gmt":"2023-02-06T01:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/?p=1924"},"modified":"2023-02-06T01:55:42","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T01:55:42","slug":"lighting-up-the-valley-showground","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/2023\/02\/06\/lighting-up-the-valley-showground\/","title":{"rendered":"Lighting up the Valley Showground"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has announced $360,000 to upgrade flood lighting at the Kangaroo Valley Showground.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The funds come from the NSW Government Strong Country Communities Fund and will provide new lighting for Osborne Park at the Showground.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs a Shoalhaven City Councillor, I worked hard to secure new toilet facilities for the Showground. Over the years as your State MP, I\u2019ve assisted with many grants for the precinct and I\u2019ve proudly supported the wonderful work of the Kangaroo Valley Show Society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSo many volunteer and sporting groups use the Showground and investments like this one make the ground much more accessible. From the annual A&amp;H Show through to training and sporting games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGrants of this size are well outside the resources of local user groups, and it would take a long time before council was in a position to fund this infrastructure. That\u2019s why I\u2019m pleased to work hard and get results that matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs your local MP, I know locals don\u2019t care much for more \u2018talk\u2019, but are focused on outcomes. I will always work hard and do my best to get things done for Kangaroo Valley\u201d, Mr Ward said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr Harold Sharman, President of the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Association, said that he welcomed the funding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are very grateful to our local MP Gareth Ward for securing this $360,000 funding to upgrade the flood lighting at the Showground.
