{"id":1581,"date":"2022-11-01T01:21:19","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T01:21:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/?p=1581"},"modified":"2022-11-01T01:21:19","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T01:21:19","slug":"valley-generosity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kangaroovalley.nsw.au\/valleyvoice\/2022\/11\/01\/valley-generosity\/","title":{"rendered":"Valley Generosity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have a story of kindness which I would like to share with you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last Saturday I was camping at Coolana, the Sydney Bush Walkers&#8217; property on the Tallowa Dam Road.\u00a0 About four o&#8217;clock, I realised I had forgotten to bring my sleeping bag.\u00a0 I drove into town, hoping to find something to keep me warm.\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t look good &#8211; almost everyone had closed up for the day.\u00a0 But the general store was still open; Paula Sellar was there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There was nothing in the store that would be much of a substitute for a sleeping bag, but when I explained my predicament to Paula, she offered to lend me hers.\u00a0 I was taken aback but such generosity to a total stranger.\u00a0 I accepted, hardly believing my luck.\u00a0 After she closed up the shop at five o&#8217;clock, Paula drove off, got the sleeping bag, and brought it back to me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was cold that night.\u00a0 Without the sleeping bag, I could not have slept a wink.\u00a0 But thanks to Paula, I did sleep, and was refreshed enough to lead a walk up Mt Moollattoo on Sunday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I won&#8217;t forget the kind deed that saved my weekend from disaster.\u00a0 I will remember the spirit of Kangaroo Valley hospitality, evidenced in Paula&#8217;s good deed.\u00a0 She gets the credit, but maybe the whole community deserves praise for such kind treatment of a visitor in trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yours, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leigh McClintock<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a story of kindness which I would like to share with you.
