We have written \u2018Dragon\u2019 stories! The children decorated pictures of dragons, and while they did this, they were asked to think of a tale to tell about their dragon. Some amazing stories were created.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe dragon drank water from the water hole, then went to bed. He woke up in the morning and he was in the wild. He got lost. He finded his way home.\u201d \u2013 by Wilder.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe blows fire in the sky. He\u2019s a nice dragon. He likes to fly in the sky doing \u2018loop the loops.\u2019 He likes playing \u2018Hide and Seek Tips.\u2019 He likes running. He likes playing with people.\u201d \u2013 by Huey<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe dragon was at her home. She went to sleep. When she woke up she was near the river. She was in a forest. She was lost in the forest. She went on a path and turned around a corner and went straight again. She turned around another corner pointing left, went straight again and she turned more corners. Then she got home.\u201d \u2013 by Matilda\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Writing down the children\u2019s stories and reading them back to them instills a sense of pride. It is exciting to hear your own words read back to you, and this also helps children understand how text can convey meaning \u2013 first steps in literacy.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have made jelly at preschool. The children had to decorate and write their name on their own jelly cup. We followed the recipe on the pack, took turns to stir and poured the jelly into the cups. Then we had to wait for it to set. The wait was worth it. Delicious!<\/span><\/p>\n

This culinary experience was inspired by one of our favourite songs – \u2018Jello\u201d\u2019 by Gen Jereb. Search for it on the internet \u2013 we can guarantee it will produce an \u2018ear worm.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
