Your local Lions Club have been working hard to secure funding and delivery of two firefighting trailers (pictured here) for the Budgong Community Group Inc. These trailers have a 1500 litre capacity and are road registrable, fitted out with dual axle, lights and electric override braking.
The specifications of these trailers include roller-rocker suspension, 15-inch wheels with Landcruiser hub pattern, 50mm tow hitch jockey wheel, and rear pump plate. This equipment supports the firefighting equipment as outlined below.
GX200 Honda Motor, 1½ Inch twin impeller, Davey Firefighting pump, pressure relief valve, camp lock fittings, ball valve, hose reel with 36m of 19mm hose and adjustable firefighting nozzle bottom fill kit, Safety Ball Baffle system
Special thanks to those involved in the delivery, from Simon Russell for his tractor to unload the equipment to John and Helen at the Red Shed where the units will be stored until new sheds are constructed to house the trailers. The sheds will be located both north and south within Budgong.
The required $35,780 required for the trailers was a joint effort between Kangaroo Valley Lions, the local N2 district and Lions Clubs International Foundation. The shelter funding of $14,709.20 was made possible from LCIF and Canberra Woden Lions Club Inc contributions.
