Sculpture in the Valley exhibits each two years, with meaningful indoor and outdoor art displayed in a beautiful rural setting. Against a backdrop of spring views on the escarpment, the show also brings to light the best of KV and its community, and we are now asking you to get involved and be part of the community that makes this great event happen.

In 2023 the exhibition runs over two September weekends up at Wilburra Estate, a great property on Smarts Road. Following a series of cancellations, for all the obvious reasons, the event is back with a jaunty spring in its step. It has a new curator, established sculptor David Ball, and two new judges, Janet Laurence and Michael Snape, who are both extremely respected Australian artists. They have selected the winners from a large collection of high standard entries submitted from a large group of artists. Tickets have gone on sale and there has been a keen response from the public already. It is now the largest sculpture prize south of Sydney and, as well as art, it brings a range of people who explore the Valley, enjoy our local food and music and generally have a great time.

To make the exhibition work is a feast of movable parts requiring a variety of skills and can-do teamwork. Fortunately, the Valley community has a wealth of this, and we are now calling out for you to join in and get involved. Whether you are a social communicator, an organised logistics thinker, great with directions, have a passion for the arts, enjoy the company of others and teamwork, and much much more, Sculpture in the Valley would love to hear from you. We need volunteers to come together to make sure the event runs as well as possible and showcases our area. You will get to be part of a friendly group of people, locals and from wider afield, pulling together in a flexible environment and be behind the scenes at a true landmark event.

We look forward to hearing from you and we say thank you for giving your time, energy and expertise for the benefit of our community and art.

Dates and times are flexible. Please contact Elizabeth Clarke for more volunteer details; she can be reached via elizhclark@gmail.com .
