Preschool News

Thank you for the kangaroos, Gavin!

The children are settling in to their new year of learning here at the preschool. New friends have been welcomed, as well as old friends returning. The young children from last year are now the big children. They are embracing this idea!

The Kangaroo Valley Show is the big event we have welcomed back this year. The children have created some beautiful artworks to display in the pavilion. We are planning to write a book about all the things we do at the show.

The ‘Jack in a box’ game has been a hit here at preschool. We played with real jack in the boxes, then the children took turns to pretend to be the jack in the box, popping out of a big cardboard carton that they decorated so beautifully.

Toy cars have been whizzing down the balance beams. The children have been experimenting with speed, momentum, direction and gravity as they line up the cars and try to get them to the end of the beam. Gavin from the woodshop has kindly donated some ramps and movable wooden kangaroos to enable the children to expand on these experiments. Thank you Gavin.

While watering our garden pots we realised how old and worn they have become. The community has come to our rescue. Thank you to all the generous people who have provided us with new pots and vouchers for potting mix. We will be able get the potted gardens looking beautiful again.

Thank you also to all the generous people who donate to the preschool. We really appreciate it.
