2022 Spring Competition Finals

After the disruptions of the last couple of years, it was great to be able to complete the recent Spring Comp. The B-Division Finals were held on Wednesday 14 December and A-Division on Thursday 15 December, both putting on an excellent display of tennis.

The B-Division final was a real nail-biter, ending up at three sets all. This meant counting the total games won with Team D (Greg Thompson, Janet Bundey, Andy Grant and Paula Pulido) finishing one game ahead of Team A (Stuart Ward, Dave Johnson, Rosemary Stanton and Trina Dando).

The following evening, the A-Division final wasn’t decided until the last set, with Team B (Chris Little, Stefan Jarnason, Peter Wesley-Smith and Jane Gripper) taking a fourth set leaving Team C (Gavin Chittick, David Nelson, Gayle Harvey and Marion Smart) with two sets.

2023 Autumn Competition

The Autumn Comp will start the week after the KV Show – that’s Wednesday 22 February for B-Division and Thursday 23 February for A-Division. The round-robin comp will run for 14 weeks with a two week break over the Easter school holidays, the semi-finals and finals finishing on 21 and 22 June.

We’ll be holding grading nights on Tuesday 7 and 14 February from 6pm for any new players wanting to be selected into a team. Existing players are welcome to come to the grading nights to have a hit. If you or anyone you know is interested in starting or returning to tennis, we would love to see you there.
