2022 is drawing to a close but we are not slowing down the pace at preschool.
The children going to big school next year have been preparing for that event. They have been participating in our ‘Big School Group’ sessions where they pretend to be at school. They have also had orientation visits to the real kindergarten class where their learning journey will continue.
Happy Healthy Harold from ‘Life Education’ could not come and visit us in person this year, so we booked a zoom meeting with him. The children loved learning about keeping healthy and safe with Harold!
The children have been learning about road safety, too. It is important to hold a grown up’s hand when you are out and about. ‘Hold My Hand’ posters were made to remind everyone about this. The children painted their grown up’s hand and they made a hand print, then, when the print was dry, they put their own hand print over it to look like holding hands.
We made seat belt posters as well and gave out safety door stickers for everyone’s car – you get in and out of the car on the safe side, the side near the footpath. The stickers go on the window on that side.
An excursion to see the school bus and learn about bus safety was a highlight of our safety learning. Thank you Mr Bourke and Kangaroo Valley Bus Company for this wonderful opportunity.
We will soon be preparing some surprises to celebrate the end of the year and the festive season. The children have been invited to sing at the ‘Carols in the Valley’ They will be amazing!
We wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
See you in 2023.
