After a three-year hiatus, the Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival finally had its day in the sun. The festival was a huge success, with the weather being kind to the organisers and visitors all weekend, with barely a drop of rain. The village and Osborne Park showground were filled with smiling crowds. With eight performance venues across Osborne Park and the village there was no shortage of acts to enjoy. The addition of the Happy Nest tippi with the ‘open mic’ stage was a big hit, with lots of fresh faces getting up and sharing their talents with the crowds.

You don’t have to take our word for it; here are what the performers and visitors had to say:
“Heartfelt thanks to all who came along to see me in full ratbag form between bouts of passionate storytelling and song at Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival over the weekend. We were hosted by the loveliest of sweethearts nestled between veggie gardens and gum trees and can’t thank the organisers and volunteers enough for their hard work and incredible tenacity throughout these past few years.” Kerryn Fields.
“Four fabulous folky sets done at Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival over the weekend, and we all had such a marvellous time! Thank you so much to the team who put on this wonderful festival, the organisers and volunteers, the folk who billeted us (any many others), the food stalls, the sound techs (we really love you!) and especially the beautiful audiences who kept showing up!” The Bushwhackers.
“Wow what an incredible weekend celebrating music at Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival. The spirit of this beautiful place and the people who make it all go are absolutely superb. Many thanks to Stuart, Sally, Rob and all the volunteers and sound engineers for your amazing work to keep everyone smiling all weekend. We feel so inspired after playing ten shows with each other and our dear friends The Bushwackers and Alanna and Alicia at your beautiful festival. Lovely to catch up with our folk family – Deta and Rob from The Beez, among many other great artists. Many thanks also to our incredible billets Justine and Peter for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home We had a ball. Your hospitality was too kind. Cheers and Congrats all round.” Sarah and Silas.
“Thank you organisers, volunteers, performers and stakeholders for a superb weekend! A great big folk family reunion and some wonderful new acts to see as well! Brilliant, and sorely needed after the isolation of the last couple of years. Back on track and ready to folk’n’roll into the spring and summer festivals as they return. Thanks again for making it happen.” Cathy Rytmeister.
