Get set to sizzle

The biggest little festival on the South Coast is set to sizzle in Kangaroo Valley this September. The infamous Friendly Inn beer garden and back paddock will be transformed into a BBQ battleground and beer lovers’ paradise. Get trackside at the competitive lawnmower racing, take a punt on the live piglet racing, get high above it all with helicopter rides above the valley. With live music, petting zoos, archery, and face painting to boot this is set to be a family friendly festive extravaganza.

Get set for the Kangaroo Valley Craft Beer & BBQ Festival on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September. There will be loads of Low n’ Slow BBQ caterers and sweet treat food trucks to enjoy. Watch on as The Australian BBQ Association & Australasian Barbecue Alliance host BBQ battles with competing BBQ teams. Buy a judge’s weekend pass and you could decide who takes home the trophy for best pork ribs or top beef brisket.

For the beer lovers there will be over 80 beers and ciders to sample over the weekend. This is a chance to get up close and personal and talk about hops till the cows come home with some of the best craft beer makers in the country. Setting up in the back paddock all weekend will be 4 Pines Brewery, Dangerous Ales, Jervis Bay Brewing Company, BentSpoke and Cupitt’s Estate, to name just a few. For those who prefer a drink without the bubbles there will be wine tastings from our very best south coast wineries and distilleries, including Tara Distillery and Corang Estate.

The festival will host a live music stage, with Paul Greene and special guests. There will be loads of kids’ entertainment with Golden Ridge animal farm, archery from Archer combat sports, face painting and even helicopter rides. A sight to be seen is local ShowMOW Racing, competitive lawnmower racing on the showground. Winners will be grinners with Noah’s Thoroughbred Racing Pigs all weekend; be sure to study the form guide to a pick a winner.

With all the roads open in Kangaroo Valley, this is truly the biggest little festival and the perfect country day out. Kids under 12 are free and a one day adult pass is $25. There are discounts for concessions juniors, seniors, and weekend passes. There will be buses available from Nowra, Bomaderry and Bendeela camping grounds.
