Access restored at Barrengarry Mountain from Friday 1 July

Restricted access will be restored to Kangaroo Valley from the north west on Moss Vale Road at Barrengarry Mountain from Friday 1 July, weather permitting.

Two lanes will be open from 5pm returning to the speed limit of 60 km/h.

Two sections of the road will be open with single lane access only while work continues. Traffic control and reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place at these locations.

Road users are advised to allow five minutes additional travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Work towards restoring two lane access is ongoing and is expected to take up to two months in some sections to complete, weather permitting. Future night work and further planned road closures will be required. We will continue to keep you updated as this work progresses.

While interim repair works have been completed at some sites to allow opening of the road, there are additional locations that still require long-term restoration over the next two years. We will update the community as planning for full restoration works continue.

Now that Moss Vale road is open to traffic from 5pm on Friday 1 July, motorists will be able to drive to their destination. Berrima Buslines will continue to provide the additional route 810 bus services for another week during this transition period. This service will stop after the last trip on Friday 8 July. We will adjust the additional services timetable in the coming days.

Transport for NSW reminds road users to remain patient at traffic control points for the safety of workers and the travelling community.
