The ‘Men’s Shed’ is an initiative to improve the health of men by giving them a place in their communities where they can find companionship and purpose.
Currently there is a groundswell of interest amongst a group of men in Kangaroo Valley to start a local Men’s Shed. There is a very successful Men’s Shed at Berry and they are keen to help us get underway.
Men go to the sheds for different reasons and are free to engage at whatever level they want.
It is just a group of men getting together to chat, make things, share ideas and have a cup of coffee together.
Some examples of the activities engaged in are wood and metal work, photography, computing, furniture restoration, car mechanics cooking and fitness.
This article has two aims:
