Shoalhaven Fires (Termeil Creek, Romney Park Road and Burrier) Fire Update

 The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) is advising residents of Lake Tabourie and Woodburn Road that the fire is expected to reach their properties. Residents of these areas are advised to prepare their properties for the onset of fire.

The RFS, NSWFB, National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and Forests NSW (FNSW) continue to work on three fires in the Shoalhaven area.

Romney Park Road Fire
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) is advising residents of Lake Tabourie and Woodburn Road that the fire is expected to reach their properties. Motorists and residents are advised that road closures are in place for Monkey Mountain Road at the Princes Highway and Woodburn Road at Clyde Ridge Road.

Residents of Kings Point and areas in and around Woodstock are advised that their properties may experience the effects of smoke and ash.

The RFS is advising residents of the Dolphin Point to continue to prepare their properties for the onset of fire.

People in the Potholes Road, Romney Park Road, Wheelbarrow Road, Lake Road, the Princes Highway, Bungalow Park and Burrill Lake areas are advised that a fire burning in the vicinity will continue throughout today and they should prepare for the onset of fire should it occur. Crews from the RFS and NSW Fire Brigades will be conducting property protection as required and residents are advised to follow the advice of firefighters. For information on what to do during the onset of a bush fire, click here.

The Princes Highway has been closed south of Burrill Lake. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the Highway may remain closed for some time. Motorists can check the RTA website for up to date road closures and alternate routes.

Termeil Creek Fire
The fire Termeil Creek fire started Thursday afternoon and has since continued to burn near the Princes Highway approximately four kilometres north of Termeil. .

There are currently no properties under threat however residents of Termeil and surrounding areas should make sure that their properties are prepared for the onset of fire should it occur.

Burrier Fire
A fire that reignited Friday afternoon continues to burn in Burrier, 14 kilometres west of Nowra.

There are currently no properties under direct threat at however residents of Burrier and surrounding areas should make sure that their properties are prepared for the onset of fire should it occur.

Motorists travelling on roads near these fires are urged to take care when travelling through smoke, as visibility may be reduced and fire fighters may be working on the roadside.

The Commissioner of the Rural Fire Service has declared a bushfire emergency for the Shoalhaven local government area.

Weather Forecast
The temperature is expected to be lower throughout Sunday with higher humidity however winds are expected to be strong to very strong from the west-southwest.
