Seniors accommodation
Last year a survey was included in the Voice to ascertain if there was general support in principle for the establishment of some form of seniors’ accommodation in the valley.
Three quarters of respondents were in favour of the idea.
Since then I have convened several informal meetings of eight community members who, in their survey responses, expressed a willingness to investigate the feasibility of the proposal.
We have contacted a number of organisations involved in the retirement home industry. Based on the information we have obtained, we feel it is now appropriate to form a steering committee to pursue the proposal further.
Given the time which has elapsed since the survey was circulated and the possibility that not all interested persons may have responded to it, we would like to know if anyone, not already involved, is interested in joining a steering committee.
