Pioneer Museuem Park made the semi-finals
1 Oct 11
Earlier this year The Valley Voice nominated the Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Settlement Reserve Trust for a Crown Reserve Trust Award (for ACT and NSW) under a program
co-ordinated by Awards Australia.
Crown land is reserved by the NSW Government for many purposes.
There are more than 33,000 Crown Reserves across the state, which are managed by either a community trust board or by management committees.
The Community Trust boards are made up of community volunteers who devote many hours of unpaid service to their communities. Management committees are made up of local councils, associations or sporting bodies looking after public halls, parks, gardens and sporting grounds - many assets enjoyed by local communities.
Judging was completed on September 23 and we have received the following advice.
Congratulations on Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Settlement Reserve Trust becoming a Semi Finalist in the Crown Reserve Trust - Community Award category.
We would like to take this opportunity to recognise their outstanding achievements.
The quality of nominations received this year has highlighted the extraordinary commitment and dedication individuals and groups continue to make in their community each and every day. Thus this has made the decisions for our judges extremely difficult.
Although the nomination was of a very high standard and made our Top 10 in the Crown Reserve Trust - Community Award category, it did not reach finalist stage this year. However, we encourage you as the nominator to ensure your nominee continues in their chosen field of endeavour and hope to see them nominated again in 2012.
