Member for Kiama Matt Brown said the NSW Government has made a grant of $6,000 and offered a loan of $10,000 to help fund improvements at Kangaroo Valley Showground.
“I am pleased to announce significant funding has been offered to the Shoalhaven City Council, which manages Kangaroo Valley Showground,” Mr Brown said.
“The funds will help finance the reconstruction of a poultry and animal nursery pavilion in the grounds.
“Kangaroo Valley Showground is home to the annual Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival.
“It also hosts the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Show each year and the monthly Kangaroo Valley Village Market.
“It’s a pleasure to make this funding available and to support the development of one of Kangaroo Valley’s vital community assets.
“The funds will come from the NSW Government’s Public Reserves Management Fund, administrated by the Land and Property Management Authority.
“The Public Reserves Management Fund is used to finance upgrades and safeguard Crown land reserves, such as parks, showgrounds, walking tracks and caravan parks.
“Under the NSW State Plan, the Government is improving and maintaining Crown lands, increasing their benefits for the community and ensuring they continue to be available for local activities,|" Mr Brown said.
