Night riders light up the Valley skies
1 Oct 11
If you have been driving through Kangaroo Valley and have seen some bizarre alien like creature flying past you on the road on a Friday night with a light on its head, it’s probably because you have either been past or passed a Mountain biker going on a night ride.
We have spent the cold bitter Friday winter nights riding on the Red Shed tracks as a way of doing something healthy and meeting up before going to support our local Club.
By the time you read this we will be back into daylight saving and our Friday night rides will be over.
But it’s been a great way of meeting new people. All you need is a mountain bike and a reasonably good head torch or bike light.
This year’s night rides have been dominated by wet weather conditions with most rides ending in a muddy couple of riders walking into the club. We generally do around three to four laps which makes about an hour ride, with a break between each ride.
If you are keen to get into night riding, we will see you there next year when daylight saving runs out.
