Kookaburra Creek regeneration
1 Apr 11
With funding and support from the P&C, as well as a generous donation from Eraring, Kookaburra Creek which lies on school land behind the school buildings, is once again being rejuvenated so it can be used as an outdoor learning environment for our children and community.
Timber staging areas that were built in the 1980s as part of a Work for the Dole program, have long since rotted and are now unsafe to use. Stage 1 of the renewal project will involve the removal of these dangerous timbers from the stage area (already started with help from the Scouts and Cubs groups), recycling some of these timbers for pathways and installing new seating in the learning areas.
This project will be ongoing, with plans for construction of a new viewing area, boardwalks and pathways. The weeds will gradually be worked on by the students who are already nurturing native seedlings for planting.
We will need lots of help with removal of existing structures, cleaning up the area, gradual bush rejuvenation and the building of new pathways and areas. If there are any local tradespeople or landscapers or gardeners or anyone who would like to assist with this project, in whatever way they can, small or large, please contact John Bond (4465 1182).

A big thank you to the outgoing executive for all their hard work, especially our 2010 President Ilse O’Reilly who has done a fantastic job over the last year; our secretary for the last three years, Sarah Butler; and Justine O’Reilly who held the position of treasurer for two years until late 2010.
Trivia 2011: The date has been set for Trivia Night 2011: Saturday 17 September 17!
So put that date in your diaries and stand by for news of this year’s theme and prizes!
A big, big thank you to all the members of the community who come to our annual Trivia night and support the school through your generosity and spirit!
We hope to see you there!
Thank you to our anonymous donor:
A very generous and anonymous donation of $500 was given to the P&C, via the post office, earlier this year.
On behalf of the school and the children, we would like to thank that person for their support and generosity.
Thank you! Sarah Butler
