Kangaroo Valley Olives stepping up the pace
1 Apr 11
Kangaroo Valley Olives is a small, boutique olive producer - made up of Kangaroo Valley locals - and our beautiful whole olives come from our own groves and are processed in our dedicated plant in Nugents Creek Road.
The last few months have seen many changes at Kangaroo Valley Olives.
We have revitalized our product range – adding some innovative new flavours and now offer whole fresh olives with locally sourced fresh ingredients to tantalize the taste buds. Our pasteurised long life products have also evolved with the addition of new flavours such as Armana (toasted cumin and coriander seeds with black peppercorns), Tuscany (with tones of garlic and rosemary), Olympia (a blend of garlic and chilli) and our Mediterranean Salsa Verde (our salute to the Greeks with their love of green herbs and a hint of garlic); along with our classic Naturale – offering the perfect balance of fruitiness and salty bitterness.
All our flavours are available in kalamata olives or our own special Jumbo Kalamatas – a fabulous mouthful of pure pleasurable taste sensation.
With a view to sustainable agriculture and global responsibilities and our commitment to lowering our carbon footprint, our packaging has also undergone a change.
We now offer our whole olives in resealable, free-standing environmentally friendly pouches – perfect for the pantry or picnic. Many of our tapenades are also packaged in eco-friendlly tubes – no waste, no mess, no breakages (and with no crumbs - perfect for coeliacs).
Our re-launch at the 2011 Shoalhaven Food and Wine Show showcasing our new product lines was a major success and we have received many customer enquiries in relation to providores outside of Kangaroo Valley, namely in the Shoalhaven (Nowra, Berry) and Southern Highlands (Bowral, Robertson) and the Illawarra. We are now looking to have our stock available for purchase by guests at local accommodation providers as well at a few select providores.
Our olives can be purchased in varying sizes including 350g pouches up to 10kg pails (perfect for delicatessens and wholesalers). Kangaroo Valley Olives also produces a range of quality tapenades and salsas allowing complete versatility of use, from sauces to dips. A recent addition: Eden (a sweet olive and fig tapenade) is the perfect accompaniment to any cheeseboard.
The 2011 harvest season is almost upon us – and not a moment too soon, as our 2010 Extra Virgin Olive Oil (evoo), with its golden buttery taste simply flew off the shelves. Make sure you put your orders in quickly if you do not wish to miss out on the 2011 release.
Come and visit at The Olives Centre, our processing facility and cellar door located at 71 Nugents Creek Road, Kangaroo Valley (open by appointment and tours very welcome) or our premium products are also available from our website: www.kvo.com.au.
At Kangaroo Valley Olives we have a simple philosophy: “To bring to kitchens and tables across Australia the highest quality table olive and olive products, grown and produced in Kangaroo Valley.”
Indeed, Kangaroo Valley Olives has become widely acknowledged for its passion and the care it expends on each and every olive, with a recent review by Simply Lush writing: “The valley is one of the few places in Australia where premium Olive oil is produced. Kangaroo Valley Olives, grows some of the finest olives in the world, selling them on their own and as olive oil. You can visit the olive groves and the Cellar Door and sample some of the best olives and olive oil in the world.
