Jing Jo rings some changes
1 Nov 11
David and Chai, (proprietors of Jing Jo) have a long experience record in running a restaurant.
After 10 years running one in French’s Forest they moved to Kangaroo Valley in a tree change and have operated in the village since March 2005, initially in the village area and then to a beautiful and spacious property near Hampden Bridge.
David (from Wellington New Zealand) and Chai (from Bangkok) have the perfect working arrangement for their talents.
David is the “frontman” and figures guru while Chai rules in the kitchen and the cottage garden which opened in early 2010 after an intensive four months of construction and preparation which has resulted in an El Dorado of fresh produce.
This has enabled Jing Jo to offer seasonal menus and to be guaranteed of source and delivery.
“There has been such a positive feedback” says David, “customers are happy to know and see where their meals are coming from”.
The growing list (in more ways than one) includes herbs, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, asian salad greens, silverbeet and zucchini to name a few.
The hours at Jing Jo’s have changed (see advertisement on facing page), they will no longer open on Mondays and as a new departure the evening menu will now include modern Australian meals (including pastas) with the aim to eventually reach a 50/50 offering but their primary emphasis and focus is the continuation of their superb, popular and successful fine Thai dishes.
The Voice congratulates Jing Jo on their efforts.
