Glengarry news

The new intake of boys are well and truly settled in at Glengarry and enjoying the beautiful environment in Kangaroo Valley.

Activities have taken them to Coolendel, Carrington Falls, Ben’s Walk, Thompson’s Point and paddling along Lake Yarrunga and Kangaroo River.

The boys are learning to appreciate the wonders of the great outdoors and the joys of a life far less hectic than the one they are used to in Sydney.

This change of environment is designed to provide an opportunity for self-discovery and a genuine rite of passage at a time in their life where they are in a transition from boyhood to manhood.

The pipers and drummers from the last intake of boys were very glad for the opportunity to contribute their musical talent to the Arts Festival in May.

Each intake also gets involved in service learning activities in the local community.

This may be helping at the local Kangaroo Valley Primary School or the Pioneer Village to do some necessary cleaning up, or it may be helping out one of our elderly locals with some gardening or maintenance.

If you could do with some help on one of our service learning weekends, please contact Sharon at the Glengarry office to notify us of how we might be able to engage a group of young, strong and able-bodied boys to help in the community.

Our number is 4465 1089.
