David Pereira at Riversdale 2011

David Pereira’s Cello Series at Riversdale is on again.
Quite a few valley residents have made the trip to Riversdale for these concerts last year, and it was worth the trip!
Here are the details for this year’s performances.
Program 1 -
Sunday April 10, 2 pm
The Primarosa Players - a concert of exquisite Classical music for piano and strings: Schubert string trio movement, Liszt Elegie for cello and piano, Mahler/Schnittke piano quartet, Bartok First Rhapsody for cello and piano, and Dvorak piano quartet in D major.
Tamara Anna Cislowska on piano, Anna McMichael on violin, Alexina Hawkins on viola and David Pereira on cello.
Program 2 –
Sunday July 31, 2 pm
The Cislowska-Pereira Duo with Kate Grenville - Chopin and George Sand in words and music.
Major Australian writer Kate Grenville speaks on George Sand and Frederick Chopin - their love and art - with performances of the piano/cello sonata, Polonaise Brillante and piano nocturnes, etudes etc. (Kate is an amateur cellist, also!).
Tamara Anna Cislowska is an Australian virtuoso who formed this duo with David Pereira in 2010.

Sunday November 6, 2 pm
Beethoven Sonata Cycle on Fortepiano and Cello
- Geoffrey Lancaster and David Pereira - with commentary by Dr. Lancaster - internationally recognized authority on historical performance style and fortepiano virtuoso.
