Chance to be part of the Folk Festival
1 Sep 10
Many locals are performing at this year’s festival, but there are lots of other ways to be involved.
1. Volunteer
A minimum of 6 hours volunteer work entitles you to a free weekend pass. Some volunteer jobs: set up before or pack up after the festival, ticket office, check wristbands at venues, bar (RSA required), waste team, venue management, traffic control.
2. Billet a performer
In return for offering a bed and breakfast to one or more homeless performers, you will receive a free weekend ticket for your family. It’s a great chance to be involved with the festival and to get to know some of the performers. Accommodation is needed for the nights of Friday 22 and Saturday 23 Oct, with some possibly staying Sunday night as well.
3. Join the organising committee
We have a dynamic committee of 12, but we can always use more helpers to ensure the festival goes from strength to strength.
4. Buy a ticket
The best way to enjoy the festival is to buy a season ticket and immerse yourself in music for the whole weekend. For only $80 you can see up to 35 concerts over the weekend, or you might like to join in some of the hands-on music or dancing workshops. Kids under 12 are free and have their own festival with concerts and a craft tent. Youth season tickets (age 12-20) are only $25. If you can’t spare the whole weekend, we have day, afternoon and evening tickets. For a full list of ticket prices, including discounted earlybird tickets, visit www.kangaroovalleyfolkfestival.com.au.
How do the tickets work?
Tickets are purchased on-line or at the gate. You will be given a coloured wristband which will entitle you to go anywhere in the festival site and attend any concert or workshop. You can come and go from the site as you please. This year the festival site will be only be open to ticketholders.

Beds still needed For homelessmusicians
This year’s Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival is
hosting some of the best musicians, poets and dancers from around the country, but they need somewhere to stay. In return for offering a bed and breakfast to one or more homeless performers, you will receive a free weekend ticket for your family. It’s a great chance to be
involved with the festival and to get to know some of the performers. Accommodation is needed for the nights of Friday 23 and Saturday 24 Oct, with some possibly staying Sunday night as well.

Festival volunteers still needed
Volunteers are the life-blood of community
festivals. The organisers of Kangaroo Valley
Folk Festival are all volunteers and the festival itself could not operate without the wonderful people who volunteer their time , but need extra help during the weekend of the festival.
Volunteering gives a different perspective ofthe festival, enhances enjoyment and gives free admission. Many volunteers have such a good time that they volunteer year after year. If you are a first time volunteer, you are about to discover a wonderful, rewarding
experience! By volunteering, you will make
new friends and obtain great satisfaction from ensuring everyone has an enjoyable and memorable time at the Festival.
To volunteer for the festival, contact Sheila
