There was a good turnout when the new library facility at Kangaroo Valley Public School was presented to the community in mid August.
Attending the dedication and cutting the celebratory cake were John Bond (School Principal), Matt Brown M.L.A., Neil Reilly (A.L.P. candidate for Gilmore) Ilse O'Reilly (K.V. P and C),Sentor Ursula Stephens N.S.W.) and K.V. School Captains Jacob Radic and Gabby Knight.
Mr Brown said the new library was a fantastic new building for the school and the Kangaroo Valley community.
"The children are very excited and are already enjoying using this important new learning environment," Mr Brown said.
"It is also important to note that these wonderful new facilities would not be there without our Federal Labor Government's BER stimulus package supporting both education and jobs."
Building the Education Revolution is a $16.2 billion national investment from the Commonwealth Government to improve the quality of facilities in Australian schools and support jobs in the construction industry.
The NSW Primary Schools for the 21st Century component is a $2.98 billion investment to build or upgrade large scale infrastructure in schools. It provides new and refurbished libraries, halls and classrooms, helping to create state-of-the-art facilities across the State.
Kangaroo Valley PS also received $75,000 under the National School Pride component of the Building the Education Revolution and was used for extensive maintenance, including roofing and guttering.
Other works included painting, carpeting and new toilet facilities.
Principal of Kangaroo Valley Public School, John Bond, said the funds had made a huge difference to the school grounds.
"The school is looking great and the fresh look reflects the vibrant 21st Century teaching and learning taking place in our school," Mr Bond said.
"The new library is a tremendous addition to the school and students and staff are very pleased to have a permanent facility suited to their learning and teaching needs.
