Shoalhaven Medal Awards 2011

01 May 2011 - 27 May 2011

Nominations are now being called for the Shoalhaven Medal Awards 2011.

From now until Friday the 27th of May, nominations for outstanding voluntary contributors to the city will be accepted.

Now in its third year, the medals recognise the hard work of individuals within our community for their generosity to others and also those who have achieved excellence in their chosen field.

The committee not only looks at length or quantity of service but also the quality of voluntary contributions to the local community.

Many Shoalhaven citizens volunteer hours of their own time in the pursuit of helping others and adding value to our community and Shoalhaven City Mayor Clr Paul Green has seen much of this first hand.

“Everyday I meet people who are working tirelessly for their community, to make the Shoalhaven a more caring, connected and safe environment without thought of recognition or reward. They deserve praise and acknowledgement and that’s what these medals represent. At the same time the awards are also recognising those who have achieved excellence in their own personal endeavours and experiences, and we want to thank these citizens for helping to build on the social and cultural fabric of our community.” Clr Green said.

Nominations are available to be downloaded from Council’s Internet site at www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.

Forms are also available from the Nowra and Ulladulla Administrative Centres, Shoalhaven Libraries and Visitor Centres, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centres and Councils aquatics Centres.

The closing date for nominations will be 5pm Friday the 27th May 2011.
