Clean Up Australia Day 2011
01 Mar 2011 - 06 Mar 2011
Shoalhaven City Mayor Councillor Paul Green is encouraging all Shoalhaven citizens to get out and join a Clean Up Australia Day group on Sunday 6 March 2011.
“If every Shoalhaven citizen picked up just one piece of rubbish, we would make the 2011 Clean Up Australia campaign more successful than ever before,” Clr Green said.
“Council staff will be helping to clean up Harry Sawkins Park and Council has supported this event for the last decade” Clr Green said.
“This year celebrates the 21st Clean Up Australia and council’s commitment to reducing litter in the Shoalhaven. Council would like to thank the individuals, groups and businesses in the Shoalhaven who have made it a success over the last 20 years and encourage everyone to make this year the most successful.
“We are well aware that cleaning up Australia for many citizens is part of their daily life as they demonstrate pride in their local area and the love of our beautiful beaches, reserves, forests, creeks, bushland and farmland as well as our schools and business areas. Council is hoping that we can become one of the cleanest cities in NSW and show our pride in a clean and green city.”
