June 2011 - Kangaroo Valley Amateur Fishing Club
The Kangaroo Valley Amateur Fishing Club’s April/May Safari was held at Greenwell Point with nine members attending.
Greenwell Point Bowling and Recreation Club own the house we rented, which was conveniently located and had excellent amenities.
The weather was not conducive to outside fishing but some went out on the bay.
The fish were not biting very well and I think Saturday resulted in one “keeper”.
Sunday morning was not much better.
The “Royal Watchers” enjoyed the wedding on Friday night and fortunately we had cable TV so could watch the football on Saturday.
There were a few incidents.
Our cameraman took plenty of snaps but later found that his camera was in the wrong mode, so no photos this trip.
Our Saturday night chef had a little problem with the oven.
Something must have overheated as the smoke caused us all to evacuate to the veranda for a short period.
The baked pork and lamb turned out to be “top drawer” with very crispy vegetables.
As we are now in winter recess, our next safari has yet to be arranged and further details will be provided in the next issue.
Remember we have Club Shirts, $20, Caps $10 and badges $5 on sale.
