Church of the Good Shepherd

Greetings again from all at The Church of the Good Shepherd.

Our regular high school youth group (self-named ‘Valley Youth’) has begun and is now well underway!

The group is open to all high schoolers.

We meet every Friday in school term time from 6 pm to 8 pm in our church hall and have had on average so far about 15 teens.

Each week the teens have ‘downtime’ together, followed by different activities that then lead into time reading the bible together to hear what God has to say.

For example, so far the group has tried to walk on water at Di and Ron Nelson’s pool; played ‘theatresports’ charades to talk about God’s grace; had a huge dinner together outside on the grass (Jesus taught a lot around the dinner table); and played ultimate Frisbee (no reason!).

Your teens are very welcome to come along in term 2!

It was a delight to have a special service on March 13 to dedicate and baptise Nina Delmenico and Corinne Paterson to God on March 13.

The families invited the KV community to come along and were delighted to have so many Valley friends attend. Lunch was then held up at Chakola afterwards.

Easter services are also coming up soon.

Easter is a time when we remember how ‘God loved us so much he sent his one and only son, that whoever believes him will not perish but have eternal life’ (John 3:16).

Have you ever considered what God has done for you before?

Why not act upon this great gift of God this Easter.

It’s one thing to be given a free gift, but you still need to receive and open the gift to really appreciate it!

We warmly welcome you to come to any of our Easter services:

*Good Friday (April 22) – 8-30 am

*Easter Sunday (April 24) – 8-30 am (traditional service with communion) and 10 am (child-friendly contemporary service with communion).
