November 2011
The school holidays have ended and the children are enjoying being back together at pre school.
The weather is warming up and we have filled the wobble mat with water.
The children have been showing us lots of clever jumping and balancing tricks.
The small children are learning how to balance while the older children are extending their skills to try forward rolls and star jumps.
Getting into the paint and art materials has also been a high priority for the children.
There has been lots of creativity in our pre school.
A big thank you to the community for supporting our toy catalogue fund raiser.
We have received nearly $600 worth of vouchers! These vouchers will be used to purchase pre school resources including those most important art supplies!
Thanks also to pre school parents, community and Folk Festival patrons who supported the pre school “Curry Kitchen” fund raiser.
It looks like it may have raised around $2000!! Fund raising is very important for our tiny pre school. State government grants do not fully cover the costs of running the pre school.
Shortfall from these grants has to be made up by fees and fund raising.
Without fund raising fees could possibly get to $50 per day!
Perhaps some day governments will back up their view that early childhood education is of great importance by fully funding pre schools.
