February 2011
We celebrated the close of the 2010 preschool year with our end of year presentation concert.
The children sang some favourite songs for their families and friends.
The children leaving pre school were presented with a certificate and a book as a memento of their time at pre school.
We had a morning tea treat - we were allowed to eat party food as well as our usual healthy food choices – a very special occasion.
The treats just kept on coming!
We had a visit from Flapper the Owl and her good friend Kiran.
Kiran showed us special dances from India. There were dress ups for us to wear and we did Indian dancing too! It was great fun!
Pre school says a big thank you to Sean Kramer!
He wrote and presented his pantomime “The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” at Christmas time.
Not only did it entertain everyone who saw it, including lots of our pre schoolers, he kindly donated the proceeds of the show to the pre school.
It has enabled us to buy a very much needed lap top computer.
Thank you to everyone who put their time and talents into producing this wonderful show and to the community for supporting it. (I must say that I hope the children have forgotten to yell out “Spiders!” to me by the time pre school resumes!)
Pre school will be open for the children from Monday 31st January ready for a big year of learning through play.
The teachers are ready to implement the new national curriculum “The Early Years Learning Framework” and are making sure pre school is ready to be assessed under the new National Quality Standard in 2012.
Pre school will have a busy year, there are many places booked and some days filling already.
If you are interested in days at pre school for your child please come in and see us soon.
Happy New Year!
