Term three has begun!
We have welcomed a trainee to pre school. Emily Watson will be working here for the next twelve months while she studies for her Certificate III in Childcare.
She has settled into the routine and we love having an extra person to read to us and to help with our games as we learn.
Last term John from the “Red Shed” very kindly cut straw bales in half and bound
them so that they were just the right size for us to play with.
What can you do with a bale of straw?
We discovered lots and lots of ways to play. Straw bales are fun to balance on and make obstacle courses.
We made cubby houses and played “Humpty Dumpty”
We used the straw bales with other toys .
They became castles and bird’s nests.
We worked together to make lots of things.
As we play with the straw bales we exercise our large muscles.
The bales are quite heavy, so we have work out how much muscle force to use.
Will we lift them or roll them?
Our brains have to work hard too as we plan our games.
Eight bales of straw can do so many things!
What will we get up to this term?
