At pre school we have enjoyed lots of activities that help us to make healthy choices.
We have made our own pizzas, squeezed our own orange juice and visited Happy Healthy Harold.
We have to remember to eat our healthy foods before we eat any treat foods at meal times as well as use our good table manners.
Our table manners are getting so good that we have been able to have an excursion to Café Bella.
The children have played restaurants, cooked with playdough, sand and mud and now we have had a visit to a real restaurant to practice our menu "reading" skills, table manners, and to just have fun together.
Before we left preschool some of the children created signs, which said and illustrated that we had "Gone to Lunch".
These were designed so that "if someone comes to preschool they will know we are out to lunch!"
The children brought some special clothes to dress up in for our special excursion.
Parents came to join us and we began our adventure.
We had to remember our road safety skills as we walked from the pre school and crossed the road in a safe place, holding hands with a grown up.
At Café Bella we were shown to our special table and chose places to sit.
We had to read menus and order our food. (Good thing we have practiced saying "Please" and "Thank You" so much!).
Then we had lots of talking and some games while we waited beautifully for our food.
YUM! We had to try and stay on our chairs and eat using our best manners.
Not always easy when your are not yet five years old!
