February 2011

The Garden group celebrated the Christmas Season at Dawn Daly’s lovely home.

This was a last minute change as Hope Kennedy (who had offered her garden way back in February and after weeks of preparing her garden with Angus’ help) was laid low by a tick bite on her head and spent a few days in hospital.

We must therefore say thank you to Dawn for her generous and spontaneous offer of an alternative venue and ask Hope and Angus if they will kindly accept us for the same season in 2011.

Luckily the rain held off for most of the day and we enjoyed a tour around the garden, where Dawn has managed to tame the wildness of the creek area and created so many delightful surprises, such as her artwork that peeks from under leaves and a wonderful pond with fountain.

Lunch was brought along by the members and we shared delicious food and good cheer.  There is a period of inactivity over December and January as the weather is so hot and families and friends visit.

February 2011 will see the start of another Garden Group year.

Please join us for any or all of our activities, we love to talk to people about our gardens and issues with problematic Nature          Lee Sharam
