December 2011
October was a busy month for garden enthusiasts, with Tulip Time, Berry Gardens, Folk Festival and Robertson Gardens.
Friday 28 we visited the interesting garden at Elke's again, which is progressing, with interesting objects, beautiful roses and a front lawn to die for.
Then on to Glenmack walking down the street where Una lives seeing what can be acheived in small areas. Residents David and Val of just eight months have joined our group and their garden in that street is stunning.
Then on to yours truly, noting the work I have created for myself, with months of neglect there is plenty to do in this mish mash electic unfinished garden.
Finishing off our day at "Little Pig Creek" a retreat, run by the very talented Loo Taylor. Loo has created a most calming feel to the guest home, set back from the main road and the backdrop of the escarpment behind with many little areas.
The "coin pine" stood tall, the roses were magnificent, shaded area, and her use of pebbles to save on weeding. A few of us enjoyed a chat with Loo over lunch on the verandah, and could see why folk return many times to this little haven. Fay Nelson
